Der Zweck der Stiftung ist die Förderung der experimentellen, zoologisch-molekularbiologischen Grundlagenforschung in genetischer, entwicklungsbiologischer und/oder zellbiologischer Richtung am Departement für Biologie der Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen und Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Freiburg i.Ue. Sollte das Departement für Biologie als solches nicht mehr bestehen oder in mehrere Departemente aufgeteilt sein, tritt als Begünstigte der Stiftung jene Institution der Universität Freiburg i.Ue., welche die vorstehend erwähnte Forschung betreut. Die Stiftung verfolgt keine Gewinnabsicht.
