Die Stiftung besitzt den Global Carbon Register Standard und entwickelt diesen kontinuierlich weiter. Weiter besitzt die Stiftung das Global C-Sink Registry Tool. Die Stiftung legt basierend auf dem zugehërigen Standard die Vorgaben fest, wie Kohlenstoff-Senken (C-Senken) eingetragen, überprüft und gehandelt werden. Beschreibung lm Register werden aile C-Senken registriert, welche mit den verschiedenen Standards im Global C-Sink Ecosystem zertifiziert werden. Die Stiftung legt eine Gebührenordnung für eingetragene C-Senken fest.
