Die Stiftung bezweckt die Förderung der zeitgenössischen Gestaltung im Kanton Bern. Sie betreut zudem die Sammlung angewandte Kunst des Kantons Bern. Es ist mit anderen kulturellen und wirtschaftlichen Institutionen und Unternehmen im Kanton Bern, Fachhochschulen und ausserkantonalen Partnern eine enge Zusammenarbeit anzustreben. Die Stiftung hat gemeinnützigen Charakter und verfolgt keinerlei Erwerbszweck.
